This is a must read for anyone how cares at all about guns and how they are or should be governed by our laws and enforcement. I learned a great deal about the history of gun legislation and gun use, but more even about how and why we think about guns. I was especially enlightened by the discussions on the nature of our thought processes in general and of how our opinions are shaped in particular. The book's balanced approach made me think much more carefully about what should and should not be done to address gun violence in America.
This is a very interesting read, detailing the history of guns and the gun culture of the US from the pre-revolutionary era to the present. The author does not take a pro or anti gun stand, but methodically details the events, legal issues, and constitutional issues that have evolved over time to where we are now. Its a well written book that will make you think.
